Aura-Somaâ„¢ is generally described as a non-intrusive, self-selective soul therapy.

To start lets look at the actual words and their meaning. I looked up the word "intrusive" in the dictionary and it explains it as "entering without right or welcome". Therefore the means of using Aura-Somaâ„¢ is not intrusive and perhaps we can look at this further by looking into the self-selective part. Self-selective means that you choose the bottles that you are most drawn to of your own accord without any outside influences. During a reading the Aura-Somaâ„¢ practitioner should ask you to choose four of your favourite bottles from a selection of 103 (mostly) dual coloured bottles. By choosing your favourite bottles you are being drawn to the colours that you need and those aspects of your life that you are most ready to work with at this point in time.

Being non-intrusive and self selective works together hand in hand and the practitioner always recognizes that the greater guide is hidden within. Once this is acknowledged, it gives you the opportunity and the empowerment to work with what you really need and every Aura-Somaâ„¢ product that you choose to use is something that you have chosen and realized that it will work with you.

This brings us to another saying, which is: "You are the colours you choose and these reflect your being's needs".

When we are drawn to having an Aura-Soma reading we are faced with 103 beautiful jewel-like bottles. We need to pick four bottles from this selection for the practitioner to do the reading. We always say that the eyes are the windows of the soul and so we make our connection through the eyes to the bottles and these speak directly to our soul. The soul recognises the colours and their meanings at a deep level that we normally might not recognize and so we pick our bottles. The Practitioner has been trained to interpret your colour selection to you. Amazingly enough, over 3 million colour combinations can be chosen from the 103 bottles.

It is said that the personality is like the layers of an onion and as we deal with various issues or shadow aspects in our lives, we move onto the next layer. It is my feeling that the more we can release from the subtle bodies, the more at ease we can allow ourselves to be. I also believe that to some degree, as human beings we do grow through life and learn various lessons. I feel that with Aura-Soma we can learn the lessons a lot quicker and enjoy life with a new degree of consciousness and the knowledge that we are in a position of co-creator and we can accept that we are in more control of our lives than what we initially thought.

To discuss this further, we also have to look at Vicky Walls' (the creator of Aura-Somaâ„¢) life more closely.

Aura-Soma was developed by a very special woman called Vicky Wall. She was the seventh child of a seventh child of an Orthodox Jewish Family. From a very young age she used to walk the parks of London with her father where though play he taught her the properties of various plants and where on the body they would provide healing. With this background, it is no surprise that Vicky became an apothecarist during the time of the Second World War. It was later that she became a chiropodist and opened a clinic with her friend Margaret Cockbain.
Vicky suffered from diabetes and later became blind from this ailment. In meditation she was told to separate the waters and so Aura-Soma was born.
At first she did not know the use and reason as to why these beautiful bottles (now called Equilibrium bottles) came into being, but slowly she did discover more and so Aura-Somaâ„¢ has evolved into the remarkable therapy that we use today with great benefits to mankind.
The Equilibrium bottles are used for readings and consist of dual coloured bottles (although some bottles do only contain one colour). The bottles contain living energies through crystal energies, colour, herbs and essential oils. The top fraction is oil based while the bottom fraction is water based and carries energies from the Glastonbury Well.
The initial set only contained 49 bottles however this has grown and the current set consists of 103 bottles and as mankind evolves so new bottles are "birthed" to assist us with our growth. The gift of the Equilibrium set is that each bottle represents an aspect of ourselves and when we choose our favourite colours, our subconscious is choosing the energies that we need to work with at this particular time.

During a reading you are asked to choose four bottles from the full set and these four bottles represent your mission and life purpose, your gifts and talents, the here and now and the possible outcome or future based on the rest of your colour selection.
It is suggested that you take away your gifts and talents bottle (sometimes a different bottle may be recommended) to apply to the skin and this will help you to see your obstacle in a different way and help you to turn it into a gift. This is called "working with your bottle"
As discussed previously, the personality is like an onion and as you peel away the layers of the onion so the next layer will represent itself and so it is with obstacles. These could be from this lifetime or even a past lifetime.
By peeling away the layers it helps us get in touch with who we really are after the filters and judgments have been taken away.
There are of course other products as well. The pomanders help to protect your aura and environment for up to 2 hours and through the use of Kirlian photography it has actually been observed that valves are created in the aura that allows positive energies in and filters out the negative energies. The quintessences assist us in developing characteristics in ourselves and also offer loving support when working through a challenge.

The ritual for the use of the pomanders is very beautiful and helps us to link in and send love and healing to the rest of the world. It also shows our selflessness and willingness to share what we are being given with the rest of the world and Mother Earth for their own healing.

Three drops of your chosen pomander are placed on the palm of the left hand and then the hands are rubbed together.

You then hold your hands stretched upright above your head and picture the earth held between your hands. Send the energy and colour of the pomander from the left hand and into the right allowing it to encompass the earth. This helps to bring in a healing for the earth as well as creating a protective basket for the earth.

Then drop the energies of the 49 herbs and the crystal energies into your crown chakra. Feel the energies and the colour falling through the aura like rain or flower petals.

Then bring the hands behind the head and fan the energies around in this area. This helps to release patterns from the past that we have held from this incarnation and others to assist us to be able to create our lives anew.

Gently bring the energies over the Temples. This will stimulate the possibility of being within the sense doors and also helps to increase the functional aspect of the Third Eye.

Bring the 2 hands together above the top of the head and gently bring it over the forehead. This helps us to bring the two sides of the aura together. This should be done slowly.

Then bring the energies over the throat. This will help us to communicate with ease and in relation to the colour that we are using.

Bring the hands to rest over the heart chakra so that the pomander can bring a peace to the heart. Any situations or people that lie heavily on the heart can be placed into the colour of the pomander.

Then bring the hands over the solar plexus, the hara and the generative organs and lastly bend down towards the earth and offer the pomander through the all the layers of the floor and deep into the earth.

Come up and take three deep breaths into the temple of the body.

Why we use 3 drops of pomander on the palms of the hand?
Each drop relates to the three kingdoms that play an important role in the Aura-Soma products: the mineral kingdom (crystal energies), the plant kingdom, and the human kingdom (colour energies)

The pomander should only ever be smelt at the end of the ritual as the alcohol has evaporated by this point and the body and energy system has decided which of the 49 herbs and crystal energies is needed for our own growth.

Using the quintessences in the aura is a very beautiful and relaxing experience.

Firstly place 3 drops of your chosen quintessence on the left wrist. Then rub the wrists together and hold the energies over the heart chakra.

Then move your hands to above your heads and give the energies away to the world. At this point you may experience unseen fingers reaching out for yours.

Then bring your hands down in an arc and get a feeling for your wings. Once you can feel this bring the energies back above your head, through the third eye and over the throat.

Hold the energies once again over the heart for a short period of time and bring down the energies through the rest of the energy centres and then giving away to the earth.

When coming up again you should use the hands to make backward circles and then stand up straight and give the energies away to the world once again.

Bring the wrists down and take three deep breaths from the wrist into the temple of the body.

You should only inhale the scent of the quintessence once you have completed the ritual of moving the energies through the aura as the alcohol has dissolved by this point and the energy field has also sorted out which of the energies of the plant, mineral and hue-man kingdom you need at this particular time.

It is always important to remember to hold and shake your bottle with the left hand this links to the intuitive side of the brain. You should unscrew the cap from the bottle (remember that the 25ml bottles do not have a dropper inside), put your middle finger over the top of the bottle, the index and ring fingers on the shoulders of the bottle and the thumb supporting the base of the bottle. Remember to shake well until both fractions have mixed before applying to the body.
